The Northern Ireland Community Builders Programme ©, (formerly the Northern Ireland Peace Builders Programme) is a partnership programme that aims to build co-operation and communication at the local level between the community, police and statutory sectors by promoting an inclusive partnership approach to community building and civil society. It involves an intensive period of study and professional placement of up to 25 participants in New York City for four weeks from September 14 to October 14th 2006. The participants are selected from the police, community and statutory sectors from across Northern Ireland.

The programme includes a two week tailor made programme at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a placement with a community based or government organization involved in community or social development.
